Friday Favorites, Escada

escada

This look is going to be one of my last ‘Friday Favorites’. There are just plenty of other subjects to write about than one look from a runway. As much as I love to write down the thoughts and express the love to a look, sometimes things need to change and develop and so does my blog.
But before putting an end to my little tradition I still want to show one or two fall/winter looks that inspired me the most.
So the second fall look (first one was Mugler) concerns Escada. A pure and very clean collection seeking for minimalism. Even if it is only a simple light blue blouse, the long cuffs give the certain thing to this outfit that I’m obsessed with. An elegant way to start wearing fashion for the colder days.

Friday Favorites, Mugler

_AG11219

Metallics everywhere in the shows of fall 2015. Here, Jessica Stam is wearing quite a representative look. Mugler’s collection reminds me a bit of fashion for the outer space. The patterns and the arrangements of colours are laid out in a harsh geometric order.
It was the show in Paris I went to, to take streetstyle shots (last article and pictures HERE).
The first thing I noticed about the models was the strong lines above the eyes. Even the makeup matched.

Friday Favorites, Anthony Vaccarello

Binx-Walton-For-Anthony-Vaccarello-SS15-682x1024

With this look, Vaccarello presents a multiuse outfit. Either you walk into the office, but know that you will be seen as the revealing fashionista, or with a darker makeup look and combined with some accessories, for a night out. The perfect example to show that you don’t need much to dress well. Matching blazer and skirt with a basic shirt, along with heels and you can’t do wrong. My personal favorite detail: the stripes worn in different directions. A trend worth looking out for in other runway looks!

Friday Favorites, Jil Sander

Jil Sander 15

When looking at this kind of style, I immediately think of Leandra Medine and her blog manrepeller. She started writing her blog with the idea that fashion would often be man repelling where I totally share the same opinion with her. Even here, I mean come on, who would date a girl wearing socks in heels?! But does this hold us fashion infatuated girls back from still wearing it? It definetly shouldn’t! Because it sets a statement and that’s reason enough. The boyish kind of look has always been a way to dress for strong women with courage and self-determination. As I have never really been the ballet kind of girl but rather the girl growing up with boys and wanted to go doing karate instead of dancing, Jil Sander would absolutely match my spirit (which sounds rather ironic because that’s not what I have been representing on this blog at all). I’m still trying to find out about my personal style and it might be a thing that will accompany everyone of us through the rest of our lifes and I might start and give it a go with this kind of look. What I actually wanted to say: this whole collection is a killer ! sneekpeak here:

Friday Favorites, Alexandre Vauthier

KIM_2300

For the first time, I’m going to have a couture look in my Friday Favorites. As haute couture fashion week found its end yesterday in Paris, I have to report a bit about it. A big highlight during these days was the Alexandre Vauthier show. Full of glamour and outfits for the night time. Lots of fringes and plunging necklines, at least in every second look! The dress your looking at, took 1600 hours of handwork. Probably one of the most precious and stunning things I’ve ever seen in my life. No wonder I would just go for it. Who wouldn’t?

top nail colours for summer

sea blue

Summer holidays are about to start and I’m going to help you to get ready in the best way possible. Ladies, take care of yourselves and start make the most out of that time!
I’m starting off with some manicure:
I put together three colours in different shades you should definitely try. Each colour represents or reminds me of a holiday place which would suit perfectly to the colour. So if you’re heading to one of these places, keep that one colour in your mind! The first one happens to be this dusty sea blue/green/grey mix. As I’m going to spend a part of my holidays at the Côte d’Azur, it is going to be my colour. It just seems to be such a fresh contrast to the heat we’re all going to feel.

Second one: Barbie pink. It might be exaggeratedly girlie for some people but perfect for summer. You still have to imagine the nice tan you will have. Sounds much better now, right? As I already mentioned that it’s rather girly I immediatly thought of Los Angeles where all these barbie girls will find the perfect place to be.

Here I’m heading straight to the location. Sicily! I’ve never been there but it’s one of the destinations I’m still dreaming about. I’m heaving a picture in my mind of a sophisticated young woman wearing this bright red lipstick, a foulard wrapped around her head and driving down the coast in a cabriolet. Sometimes you just can’t explain a colour in words..

Friday Favorites, Hermès

HER_0593

If luxury had to be represented by one brand, for me it would probably be Hermès. Of course we could start to argue about that and some people might come up with Chanel and many more houses worth mentioning, but only if you think about the bags, what comes to your mind?
Right, if you own a birkin you are pretty much well supplied. It’s the bag that comes at the end of your wishlist when you could have afforded any other bag. That’s how I would define luxury.
So I picked this outfit because it’s burning hot in Zurich right now and it had to be something light. Otherwise I wouldn’t have been able to write about it.
I’ve always liked the ancient Roman style. Even as a kid I used to wrap towels around me so that I could look like one of them. It’s such a simple and beautiful way to dress! The pale pink tone of this overall gives this delicate touch every woman would look for in an outfit. Some high sandals and you’re perfectly styled from head to toe.

Friday Favorites, Derek Lam

LAM_0079

Derek Lam for this time. A collection inspired by the 70ties. Designers in general seem to get a lot of inspiration from the 70ties these past few seasons. What made me want to pick this look for this week? I’ll start from the bottom: the wide camel crepe pants were probably the main reason. The fact that they left out the belt on purpose makes me love it. Less is more, as they say. They are the pants you would put in the category ‘Parisian fashion’. This simple blouse almost had to be white. Guess the stylists wanted to be on the safe side, well done. Last but not least, the sunnies. Round frame sunglasses are the trendiest ! He actually shares this opinion with a few designers. Here some others:

crochet bikinis

It’s not a practical type of swimwear but there’s no other bikini giving you this unique and delicate beach look. ‘she made me’ – bikinis are all handmade, with lots of love. And as I already mentioned that Australians are brilliant creators of bikinis and swimwear in general, it didn’t surprise me that it is an Aussie brand once again. The thing with those precious pieces is that you can’t get into sandy salt water without ruining them a little bit everythime you go swimming. But I mean even if you’re just lying on the beach it surely will impress.

Olivia Palermo’s best looks

OLIVIA NEW YORK

Olivia Palermo is one of the most influential people regarding street style. There’s no other woman on the international fashion streets like her. As soon as she appears outside of the shows this girl attracts a huge crowd and it’s not even possible to get to her. I literally experienced it myself but I was lucky enough to get her on camera on time (last report here). After being cast in the reality TV show ‘the city’ she launched her successful fashion blog oliviapalermo.com and did some modelling for fashion brands like Max Mara, Mango, Hogan and many more.

Olivia represents a timeless, precious and elegant style. There’s not one thing I wouldn’t get out of her closet. Definitely one of my absolute favorites.
On the top I picked out the best street style looks for you.
From fringe, wide skirts to culottes she wears it all.

(btw. have you noticed the dior so real sunnies from my last sunglasses report?
I told you they are everywhere! – report here)
